2005-08-04DEMS HEARTENED BY NARROW LOSS IN OHIO

CINCINNATI - Even though their candidate lost, Democrats said Wednesday that their close second-place finish in an Ohio congressional election gives them momentum heading into 2006. The GOP said Democrats shouldn't read too much into the result.
Former state Rep. Jean Schmidt defeated Iraq war veteran Paul Hackett by about 3,500 votes Tuesday to win a seat in Congress in the heavily Republican district.
